![]() Once the cards are in anki, reviews happen only there. Here are some examples of what cards can look like: → Basically I don’t stress it out, cards don’t need to be perfect, I’m careful to use tags so cards are organized and I know I can always come back to change things later if I feel I need to. Sometimes I add details because I have fun with it. Sometimes I just upload the pic of a sketchbook page per card and it’s enough. Sometimes I just import the excel file and it’s done. Depending on what type of thing I’m learning, what I have time for, and what I’m in the mood for, my cards are more or less detailed. It goes quickly because by this time they’re organized on folders on my computer (see step 3). Pictures are added via drag-and-drop in the cards. If the information (text) is organized in a excel file, I’ll import it directly in anki.(Because there is no way I would be able to keep track of all the reviews I have, for all the subjects, basically I need anki to be my review calender). So it’s time to put it into anki to review it. I use faststone viewer for quick ordering, cropping, and sometimes drawing/writing on the pics.īy this time I spend so much time “playing” with the material that I more or less know it already. Upload the pictures on my computer and put them in order (one folder for each palace, 1-2 pictures per station).Take pictures of sketchbook for anki cards later. Take a sketchbook, and draw a map and/or make sketches to place the information along the journey (optional).Choose a place that I already know so well that I won’t need any visuals at all (it’s what I do if I just want a “quick” “no frills” memory palace).Go for a walk to find a new place which I would like to be the memory palace, go there, take pictures, spend some time there, talk with people, etc. ![]() Choose a place that I already scouted before (basically a place I found beautiful and took pictures of, thinking it could be a memory palace someday).I organize the information I want to learn. It’s a slow process, but the process itself is part of the fun. I like my memory palaces to be beautiful, places I feel well in, that I find interesting or beautiful. I don’t do memory competitions, I learn for fun, for the long term. I manage the REVIEWS of memory palaces in anki, not the palaces themselves. ![]()
